Burghley Horse Trials 2022

G.H.Hurt & Son are thrilled to announce our return to the Burghley Horse Trials this year.

Last attending in 2019, we had the pleasure of spending four days at our trade stand, whilst some of the world’s leading equestrians competed across three events. As we prepare for Burghley again, starting on the 1st of September, let’s take a recap of the 2019 show and talk about what we look forward to this year.

Burghley Horse Trials 2022

Burghley Horse Trials 2019 saw over 173,000 visitors, who travelled across the country and beyond to enjoy the equestrian events, delicious food, and shopping at the trade stands. The three-day event covers: dressage, cross country and show jumping. It was a pleasure to watch talented equestrians compete, but in the final stages, it was Pippa Funnell who won this three-day event overall.

As new visitors to this prestigious event in 2019, we were incredibly proud to be a part of it. We were so grateful of the warm reception we received from the visitors at our trade stand. We were greeted by some familiar faces, as well as many new friends, making our experience that bit more special. At the start of the “scarf season”, our tweed jacquard scarf made its debut, otherwise known as the ‘The Burghley” Scarf.

As the event returns for its 60th anniversary following a short break due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are overjoyed to be a part of it yet again.

A wide variety of hand finished knitted pieces will be available across our adult and baby collections, including some old favourites such as “The Burghley”, “The Badminton” and the “Zig Zag Wool Scarf”. We will exhibit a brand-new piece at Burghley 2022 from our women’s range making its debut, the “Snaffle Bit Scarf”, which will be available online just days before the event.

We look forward to seeing many friends, new and old, at Burghley 2022, and leave you with a brief message from our Director, Gillian Taylor.

“Burghley Horse Trials is one of the greatest events on the equestrian calendar and is now in its 60th year. We are delighted to be part of this prestigious event, and we are looking forward to welcoming Burghley visitors to the G.H.Hurt & Son trade stand too.

It will be full of gorgeous knitted accessories for men and women, and not forgetting any little new arrivals to the family, we offer the most exquisite cashmere and merino wool baby blankets and Christening shawls along with cashmere baby knitwear pieces.

Burghley marks the close of the summer season, with autumn on the way thoughts of scarves and Christmas gifts come to mind. Step onto our stand at C32 to see the unique knitted pieces we have been producing in our Shawl Factory in Nottingham, England since 1912. We can’t wait to see you all very soon."
