Our collection of vintage handframe machines, designed by Rev. William Lee in 1589, work alongside the most modern knitting technology to produce exquisite fashion products evoking the orenburg and shetland styles.
G.H.Hurt & Son are a family owned and run company based in Nottingham, UK. We have been designing and manufacturing luxury knitted lace clothing accessories for over 100 years. Our combination of traditional lace knitting methods coupled with modern manufacturing allows us to create both classic and contemporary designs for women, men and babies. We have a range of women’s scarves, women’s shawls, baby shawls, christening shawls and men’s scarves each made using traditional lace knitting techniques. Since 1912 we’ve been using a combination of traditional handframe and modern knitting machines and knitted lace making techniques to create an appealing range of hand-finished women’s & men’s clothing accessories. We choose the finest yarns available including cashmere, kid mohair, wool and other natural fibres to make our products. It is a combination of our exclusive designs, and insistence on the highest quality that makes our women’s scarves and baby shawls a favourite of royalty and celebrities. All our products are made in Nottingham in the United Kingdom, a traditional centre for the lace knitting trade for over 400 years...
