On a very personal note, I miss spending time with my 84 year old father - Henry Hurt - who is having to self-isolate, by himself. We are delivering groceries and cooked meals to him regularly (at a safe distance) and last week my daughter taught him how to use Skype. So, at least we can chat by video call now. This made me think about all our customers and their own situations…
It is challenging not being able to spend time with loved ones, as many of us are discovering. We are all adjusting to new methods of doing things and finding creative ways to make our surroundings more interesting all day. We are also mindful of friends and family members we can't be with. We might not be able to embrace one another, or even get together. However, we can still keep in touch, and with so much uncertainty around us, it is more important than ever to do so. If you can't be with the people you love, we can help you show them how much you care.
We hope you have made the most of instant messaging and video calling, so you can still send a smile to family and friends and brighten their day. Why not make your morning coffee break a virtual one, chatting over a drink as you previously would have done in person. Sending a message could lift someone’s spirits but a shawl or a scarf, sent in the post, might go even further towards brightening their day.
